I have ministered with Pastor Emmanuel every year
for the past 8-9 years

"Kabira" is the largest slum in Nairobi with approximately
one million people struggling to survive in horrific conditions.
In the same way, the church struggles with the needs of the people,
their lack of work, money, housing and basic necessities of life. Sunday attendance
at the Kabira Church is approximately 100. The average
monthly total offerings would be about $50.00.

This is only one of hundreds of children who collect wherever we were. They were attracted to us as well as the cameras.



The mother is washing her clothes with water drawn from a collection point, carried there by a pipe whose origin is at the top of a nearby hill that collects rain water.
This water is used for washing clothes, cooking, and bathing.


The woman (a member of the Kabira church) is carrying a barrel of water from the same water collection point, to her small home for use in cooking and bathing. She invited us into her little 8 x 12' home which she shares with her three children.
