Just one of the churches we've
visited and ministered with
during the year of 2007

The Free Pentacostal Fellowship of Kenya
with Pastor Emmanuel Kisemei
at the Kabira Church
Oct. 17-21, 2007

"Kabira" is the largest slum in Nairobi with approximately
one million people struggling to survive in horrific conditions.
In the same way, the church struggles with the needs of the people,
their lack of work, money, housing and basic necessities of life. Sunday attendance
at the Kabira Church is approximately 100. The average
monthly total offerings would be about $50.00.
Currently, their situation is recovering from the recent uprisings following
the December 2007 elections.
If you would like to join us and come alongside the Kabira Church with
financial aid as they struggle to recover, please let us know.

Pastor Emmanuel, his wife, Joyce and their children

Our team from the U.S. made up of Rev. Dawn Lundgren, Rev. Barbara Mitchell and Rev. Gail Berger taught at the conference held during the day, as well as preaching at the afternoon Crusade.

The Crusade was held every afternoon for four days and as attendance grew we estimated there were well over 800 people by the last day. God moved in a powerful way through the entire time. The fruit was evidenced by the 60 plus who came forward at the altar calls, as well as the prophetic word delivered to those God wished to touch with a clear 'word' evidenced by all who were present. Those who God touched flocked to church on the last Sunday,  each one shareing amazing testimonies of their encounter with the living God during the Crusade!
Pastor Emmanuel, together with the leadership of the church have a strong and passionate love for the Lord and His Church. We thank God that He divinely
brought us into relationship, to come alongside the 'church in Kabira.'

This is only one of hundreds of children who would collect wherever we were. They were attracted to us as well as the cameras.

The mother is washing her clothes with water drawn from a collection point, carried there by a pipe whose origin is at the top of a nearby hill that collects rain water.
This water is used for washing clothes, cooking, and bathing.

The woman (a member of the Kabira church) is carrying a barrel of water from the same water collection point, to her small home for use in cooking and bathing. She invited us into her little 8 x 12' home which she shares with her three children.
